Mo Solar Car – an open source electric car to save our cities?

The Mo solar powered electric car may look weird, downright ugly even, but it could be one of the ways we try and combat the problem with over-crowded, over-polluted, congested cities in the future.

It travels at around 25km/h, which clearly keeps it well away from Tesla territory (the S model probably reverses at twice that speed), but then again, it’s clearly going to be better than a bicycle in the rain. And you can carry a child in the back seat, plus some shopping. Try doing that on a motorbike.

It’s in prototype form now, with plans to release later this year, at a price of around 4000 euros. The open source plans mean, however, that anyone can build their own for less if they have the skills. Which is interesting.
