Polaris own Indian Motorcycles perform good in Indian market since its launch in India . They start off with Rs 25 lakh premium Chief range of motorcycles . Indian Scout is competitively price which is around 11 lakh but Harley-Davidson motorcycles provide better value for money as they are locally assembled and attract lower taxes where as Indian motorcycles are imported directly.
Indian Scout sixty is suppose to be a entry level motorcycle in India motorcycle portfolio , but it resembles to standard Scout.
Suspension , breaks and even the frame is same as standard scout . The differences are not visible from the out side but instead it is inside crankcase. Sixty uses piston diameter on 93mm which is 3mm less than the piston of Standard Scout which is 96mm in diameter . Which bring the over all capacity down to around 1000cc where as standard Scout has over all capacity is 1130cc. Power is down to 22ps and the torque however is 88Nm which is okey not too bad .Sixty houses 5 speed gearbox where as its Scout has 6 speed gearbox . The part where I am disappointed is that it does not has ABS which in my opinion is very important feature in a motorcycle now a days , but they have their reasons for not including the ABS . It is for keeping the cost of the Scout low.
It is going to launch in India in second quarter of this year . But no exact day has been announced yet. we will keep you updated .
